How to show an offer to specific customers, countries or devices
Use the offer's Targeting tab to choose who sees the offer. Every rule can Include or Exclude.
Customers
Audience Targeting > Show to customers: All customers, Logged in customers, Customers by tags, or Customer segments (for example, "Customers who haven't purchased" for first-time buyers; create it in Shopify Customers if you don't have it yet).
Tags and segments only work for customers who are logged in. Guests can't be recognized, so they're treated as new customers.
Countries and regions
Show for locations: choose countries, or US states. The location is detected from the visitor's IP address.
Language and Shopify Markets
Language & Market Targeting: show the offer for a store language or a Shopify market. Use either location or market targeting, not both. For multi-language stores, see How can I translate gift offers into different languages?
Traffic source and UTM links
Show to visitors coming from a specific website: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, a custom domain, or a UTM code (for example utm_source=influencer ). This is useful for influencer offers, or to preview an offer privately before you launch it.
Domains and subfolders
Domain Targeting: show the offer on your primary domain only, on specific domains or subdomains, or in specific subfolders (for example /en-de ).
Devices
Device Targeting: all devices, desktop only or mobile only. This shows or hides the whole offer. To show the floating gift widget on one device type only, use Content & Style > Gift Widget > Show widget on. This setting applies to all your offers. The promo banner can't be hidden on just one device type: its placement applies to desktop and mobile together.
Testing your targeting
Test in a new private (incognito) window. If you test countries with a VPN, open a new private window after every change, because the country is saved in a cookie.
