How to add the gift automatically to the cart

By default, when a customer qualifies for a gift, the app shows a gift claim popup where the customer can confirm or choose their gift.

If you prefer the gift to be added automatically to the cart without showing the popup, you can enable this in the app settings.


How to enable automatic gift addition

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Free Gift app in your Shopify admin
  2. Go to Content & Style
  3. Click Gift Claim Popup
  4. Open the Style & Behavior section
  5. Toggle Hide popup

Once this setting is enabled, the gift will be automatically added to the cart when the customer qualifies for the offer, and the popup will not appear.


When should you use this option?

Automatically adding the gift can be useful if you want to:

  • Create a frictionless shopping experience
  • Ensure customers don’t miss claiming their free gift
  • Run promotions with one automatic gift

Important note

If your offer allows customers to choose between multiple gifts, you should keep the popup enabled so customers can select their preferred gift.

If your offer includes multiple gifts and is set to add the gift automatically, we will automatically add the first available gift from the list.
